Animal Health Plan PDF Print E-mail

Have you ever wished you could find the time to develop a formal Animal Health Plan for your farm rather than relying on hastily written notes or an overloaded brain to remind you when important jobs need to be done? The solution is now here!

Animal Health Plan is a web-based online software application developed specifically to meet the needs of New Zealand sheep, beef & dairy farmers. It has been designed by a professional software company with major input from experienced rural veterinarians. After an initial veterinary consultation & plan setup, clients (& their nominated vet) can not only schedule, add & edit important animal health tasks via an easy-to-use website, but also receive email and/or text message reminders for when tasks are due. An annual Animal Health Plan calendar can also be printed & displayed for those who prefer a more visual reminder of jobs to be completed each month. Once individual tasks have been done, the website can again be used to update their status & add any relevant notes to be used for future reference.

Benefits of Animal Health Plan for farmers include:

  • planned dates for animal health-related tasks to be carried out during the year
  • email and/or text reminders when animal health tasks are due
  • ability to manage multiple animal health plans & properties
  • breakdown of animal health tasks by stock class & month
  • education & management of farm staff around important animal health dates
  • more effective communication & planning with animal health service providers

Benefits of Animal Health Plan for veterinarians include:

  • more effective planning of animal health tasks requiring veterinary services
  • greater understanding of a clients farming systems, objectives & goals
  • ability to provide timely & relevant animal health advice & services
  • increased emphasis on a whole-farm preventative rather than 'bottom-of-the-cliff' animal health approach

To get started on setting up your own personalised Animal Health Plan please contact the clinic or ring to speak to a veterinarian directly.
