CONSULTATION ROOMS
The small animal side of the business is serviced by two consultation rooms, each fully equipped with examination facilities, including blood testing and eye testing.

Our front consultation room is also equipped with a microscope for examination of smears, for example, when looking for skin parasites
or identifying agents involved in ear infections.

Pet scanning The back consultation rooms doubles as our diagnostic room for ultrasound scanning and radiography as well as minor surgery.

SURGERY
Pet surgeryThere is a dedicated sterile surgery suite which is fully equipped for surgery be it routine or complex. The anaesthetic machine is a modern isoflurothane gas anaesthetic machine, which incorporates oxygen and heart rate monitors as well as breathing monitors, which are used routinely for gas anaesthetics at Veterinary Associates. Doppler (or blood pressure) monitors are also available when needed.

An ultrasonic dental scaler and polishing unit is housed in the surgery and is used routinely for dentals.

ASSOCIATED FACILITIES
Kennel areaThe consultation rooms are supported by a well stocked pharmacy so that prescription needs can be met immediately in most cases.

There is a kennel area which is temperature controlled for comfort, and an isolation ward for infectious cases.

There is also a radiograph developing room and a dark room for ultraviolet ringworm testing.

Ringworm testingA blood chemistry analyzer is housed in the small animal area which allows for immediate in-house blood testing. This has been especially useful for routine pre-anaesthetic blood testing, along with regular monitoring of hospitalized patient progress.

LARGE ANIMAL SERVICES

Large animal serviceThe majority of our farm animal work is performed off site at the clients location. However, we have a grassy paddock which is used frequently for horse examination, radiography and dentistry, along with the odd goat and sheep.

We have a mobile scanner, endoscope and radiography machine, so equine diagnostic work can be performed out in the field. We also have a dedicated portable “Heads Up” pregnancy scanner for use in production cattle.
